At Banyan Living, building isn’t just our business — it’s our family’s passion. With deep roots in construction and a shared love for creating purposeful spaces, we bring design, craftsmanship, and care to every project.

Meet Dan

Owner, Designer, Craftsman

I’ve been in construction since I was 14, working alongside my dad building custom homes in Illinois. What started with sweeping up job sites quickly turned into framing houses and learning the trade from experienced carpenters. From early on, I knew I wanted to create spaces that were both functional and beautiful.

In 2006, I moved to Fort Myers to chase another passion: golf. I spent time working at a Sanibel course and considered becoming a PGA professional. But carpentry kept calling me back. For nine years, I worked with a local subcontractor, managing everything from trim packages to intricate custom carpentry in multi-million-dollar homes.

In 2017, I earned my Certified Building Contractor license and launched what is now Banyan Living. Since then, I’ve been focused full-time on designing and building personalized spaces for Southwest Florida families.

Meet Bethaney

Owner, Designer, Craftsman

Construction has been part of my story from the beginning. I grew up working in my parents’ door and hardware company in Illinois, starting at age 8 with simple tasks like washing coffee cups and cleaning the office. By high school, I was helping with administrative work, and later, during grad school, I returned to the industry as a commercial purchaser and project manager for a local company. Those experiences gave me a strong foundation in the details, logistics, and people side of building.

My career path eventually led me into counseling and leadership, but the building world never left me. When Dan launched what is now Banyan Living, I stepped in to help shape the vision and run the business side. Today, I focus on client care, communication, and ensuring each project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Family + Values

When we’re not working, you’ll find us with our kids — Cooper and Finnley — and our dog Dixie. Whether it’s tackling a renovation in our own home or spending time as a family, our values guide everything we do: designing with purpose and building with pride.
